Eating Local In Guernsey

One sunny day I found myself with a rumbly tummy. As I foraged through my fridge I laid hands on a few jars of jam and the end bits of a loaf of gache.

guernsey gache is a traditional bread loaf – it is sweet and made with raisins. On this bread I smeared a tasty layer of three local jams – a mango & passion fruit that I bought at Taste Guernsey’s seafront Sunday, a Hedgeveg blackberry and apple, and Martine’s mixed berry jam (this is my favourite as its really tart and the perfect blend of flavours).

All in all, a local kind of meal. Next? Guernsey cheeses.
